Jimmy Morris Edgar, 75 of Early, Texas passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family after a lengthly illness. He was born on April 25, 1942 in May, Texas to Alfred and Dollie Belle Edgar.
He graduated from Blanket High School in 1961 were he was an outstanding athlete competing in all sports. On June 8, 1963 he and Ann Fisher were married in Blanket, Texas and celebrated 54 years of marriage in June. He was a member of First Baptist Church Blanket.
He worked for the former Sewalt Butane Co. for several years and then went to work for the Texas Highway Dept. before going to work for the 3M Co. where he retired from after 33 years. While working for 3M he was the manager for the Lazy Y Ranch in Brownwood/Lohn Texas where he farmed and ranched, a job he loved.
He had many interest including the Brown County Rodeo Assn., the Brown County Youth Fair where he worked many hours cooking brisket and doing assorted jobs. He enjoyed all types of hunting, fishing and gardening, AND any athletic event that was on TV. He played city league softball several years with the Fosters and Gibson teams. He spent many hours tending the garden making sure everything was in order for a good season. Tomatoes were a favorite to grow, which he did not like at all, but one season planted over 150 plants just to see them grow. He could be found in the garden daylight to dark!
Jims family received friends 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday at Heartland Funeral Home and a graveside service will be at the Blanket Cemetery on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 10 a.m.
He is survived by his wife Ann, sons Casey L. Edgar and wife Monicaof Canadian, Texas, Jason L. Edgar and Tracy Maddox of San Angelo, Texas, brothers Bob Edgar, Fred Edgar, Wayne Edgar
and sister Linda Deen. Six grandchildren, Taylor Edgar and wife Aspen, Anna Johnson and husband Trevor, Sarah Pereida and husband Anthony, Hanner Edgar, Janson and Sydney Edgar, four great grandchildren ,Taylen, Hunter, Karter and Kinsley with\ three more due soon. A host of other family and friends whom he enjoyed being with.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents Alfred and Dollie Edgar.
