Buddy Wayne Bullard

Graveside service with military honors, under the directions of Heartland Funeral & Cremations, will be held 2 PM Tuesday August 22, 2017, at the Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday August 21, 2017 at the funeral home. Condolences to the family can be left online at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net.

Buddy Wayne Bullard of Brownwood went to be with the Lord on the 18th of August. He was born in Brownwood on October 6, 1940 to parents Pete and Inez.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Bullard, brothers Ted, Freddy, Burl, Tommy and sister Jean. He is survived by his daughter, Amy Stallings (George) granddaughter, Austyn, and grandson, Chaz of Brentwood, TN. Survivors also include his brothers  Bobby, Billy, Buster, and Mike and sisters Patsy and Monnette. Plus many nieces and nephews.  Buddy loved living on his ranch and caring for his cattle and horses.

He was a highly decorated war hero, having served in Viet Nam and Thailand.  He fought with the 101st Airborne Division of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.  Before his retirement from the Army he was awarded many medals. He was a member of the Green Berets and Special Forces.  He will be remembered for his grit and loyalty to all things Texas. Special gratitude to Vickie Hartsell Overstreet his friend and caretaker.
