Brownwood News – Law enforcement arrests and reports released Monday, July 24, 2017. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation. Thursday, July 20th

*9:30 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin in reference to a child custody issue. After a short investigation, a report was generated, which included Deadly Conduct: Discharge of a Firearm, and Abandon/Endangering a Child – Criminal Negligence.

*Early Police responded to the 100 block of Early Boulevard after a woman came in to a store requesting an officer. When the officer arrived, the female reached into her purse to pull out a knife, threatening the officers. The woman was disarmed without incident. The female admitted she was going to pull the knife on the officer so he would kill her. Mental Health Services were notified for a suicidal person, and the female was released to their care.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a residence on Crockett Drive regarding a suicidal subject. According to the report, a man had arrived at the residence asking for help. The man was transported to the hospital by the deputy.

Friday, July 21st

*12:27 a.m. Brownwood Police responded to the Law Enforcement Center to speak with a complainant in reference to harassment. After speaking with the complainant, a report has been generated for harassment and online impersonation. Suspects have been named and the investigation is ongoing.

*2:45 p.m. Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of West Commerce Street regarding a theft. A citation was issued to a female suspect.

*8:37 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of West Commerce Street regarding a theft. According to the report, the suspect stole a bag of pistachios and a fishing reel.

Saturday, July 22nd

*1:47 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a call from the 2500 block of Good Shepherd Drive regarding a burglary of a vehicle.

*1:59 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of 16th Street in regards to a missing person.

*3:03 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a call from the 4400 block of Edgewood Drive regarding a burglary of a habitation. According to the report several articles of women’s clothing were stolen. A suspect was named.

*4:18 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of West Commerce Street regarding a theft. Two females were detained and issued citations for Theft, less than $100.

*10:00 p.m. Brownwood Police conducted a traffic stop near the 3100 Block of Austin A venue for speeding. Officers made contact with the driver identified as Travis Clark. An investigation showed Travis Clark had consumed alcoholic beverages. Officers arrested Clark, and during a search, located a small amount of marijuana in his possession. Travis Clark was transported to Brown County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense, and Possession of Marijuana < 2 ounces.

Sunday, July 23rd

*7:32 p.m. Brownwood Police arrested Nathaniel Jeremiah Salazar for Driving While Intoxicated.

*10:38 p.m. Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 320 block of Bluffview regarding a suspicious person.

*11:27 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 1600 block of Avenue E. Upon arriving, an investigation was conducted and Timothy Knox was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon-family violence and unlawful restraint. Knox was transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and was medically cleared. Knox was then transported to the Brown County Jail.

*11:56 p.m. Brownwood Police responded to a noise nuisance call from the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin. Upon arrival, an officer made contact with several subjects. Officers arrested Christopher Wayne Byrd for Possession of Marijuana, less than 2 ounces.

*Early Police were called to the 200 block of River Oaks Drive regarding an assault. According to the report, a female caller stated a friend was staying at her house and the friend’s husband broke through the door and began assaulting her friend throwing her outside into the yard. The male, identified as Dustin Edward Gamblin, then left when he heard someone say they were calling the police. Officers located Dustin Edward Gamblin at another residence in Early. Officers arrested Dustin Edward Gamblin for Burglary of Habitation with Intent to Commit Assault, and Assault/Family Violence.

*Early Police responded to a call from the 900 block of Early Boulevard regarding harassment. According to the report, a subject entered the store and “yelling at people calling them adulterers and getting belligerent with them.” A criminal trespass warning was issued.

Monday, July 24th

*1:14 a.m. Brownwood Police were advised of a theft of a cellular phone at one of the local parks.
