A memorial service for Tommy Manley, Jr., age 77, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early.  Interment will be in Greenleaf Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday at 9:30 am prior to his service.  Mr. Manley passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in Brownwood.

Thomas Roy Jr. was born on April 11, 1940 in Brownwood, Texas to Thomas Roy and Leah Clare (Lafferty) Manley, Sr.  He attended Brownwood High School, class of 1959.  Tommy joined the National Guard of Texas.  In 1960, he married to Sherry Abbott in Brownwood. He was retired from the Texas Youth Commission after twenty three years of service.

Survivors include his sons Tim Manley and wife Monelle and Todd Manley and wife Kim; daughter T’Anna McClure and husband Mike; nine grandchildren Teneal Hill and husband Landon, Trent Manley and wife Krista, Wesly Manley and wife Sarah, Taney Manley, Peyton Briscoe, Dustin McClure and wife Shayla, Trevor McClure and wife Wendy, Aaron McClure, Austin McClure; ten great grandchildren and the mother of his children Sherry Manley.

He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Manley Sr. in 1969, his mother Clare Manley in 1979 and sister Shirley Manley in 1953.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all who helped to care for Tommy the past few years.  Especially, Dr. Tindol, Songbird Lodge and all the nurses, doctors and staff at Brownwood Regional and the Wound Care Center.
