Funeral services for Monena Jo Thompson, age 80, of Brownwood, will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 18, 2017 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 4:00 until 6:00.

Monena Jo Thompson was born on July 16, 1936 in Brownwood, Texas. She passed away peacefully on February 14, 2017.

Monena enjoyed nature and looked forward to the Texas wildflowers each spring. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her children and many grandchildren

She is survived by her devoted husband Herman (Tommy) Thompson; children, James Michael Osborn, Mona Walker, Debby Osborn, Steve Osborn, Tina Osborn Frost and Diana Thompson Myers, fourteen grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Monena was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Wooldridge England, grandmother Josie a beloved uncle, Mac Wooldridge, a daughter, Betty Mae Thompson Nix and a grandson, Kurt Nix.
