Jack Judd at Chick-fil-AJack Judd recently earned a $1,000 scholarship from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to help pay for his college education. Judd has worked for the company for three years, the first two in California, and this year with the local Chick-fil-A restaurant inside Heartland Mall in Early.

Judd was awarded the money through the Chick-Fil-A Leadership Scholarship Program. Applicant’s for the scholarship must have worked at least 1,000 hours with Chick-fil-A as well as meet other criteria.

“Jack is a great worker and leader in our business,” said Brent Gooch, owner of the Chick-fil-A in Heartland Mall. “He is constantly giving back to his team so it’s nice to to be able to have Chick-fil-A give back to him.”

Judd moved to the Brownwood area to attend Howard Payne University, where he is currently studying Criminal Justice and is set to graduate this Spring. Though he began his education with a plan to pursue a career in Criminal Justice, Judd is considering owning a Chick-fil-A franchise of his own someday.

“I really enjoy the people I work with,” said Judd. “I look forward to going to work every day. Brent has invested in his team and I feel like I’m getting a second education in a way from him.”
