On Saturday November 19th, The Brownwood Municipal Police Association will be holding a BBQ brisket plate fundraiser for Detective Kimberly Holland and her oldest daughter Alexis Cantu. Doctors discovered Holland’s daughter has a cyst pushing on her brain causing serious medical complications.
Her family has been referred to a neurosurgeon. Medical bills associated with this diagnosis and treatment/surgery are costly, as well as traveling to the Metroplex area on a regular basis.
The local police association is asking the community to show their support. The fundraiser will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the former Bank of America parking lot, adjacent to Trans Texas Tire. Chopped brisket sandwich and sides will be offered for $8 per plate. For delivery orders, please call 325-642-3735 or 325-642-5574.
“Detective Holland is a great asset to the department. It’s sad she’s going through this experience with her child and we want to support her in every way we can. We’re glad the BMPA is stepping up with this fundraiser,” said Brownwood Police Chief Terry Nichols.
Members of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office as well as Brown County Law Enforcement wives and concerned members of the community will be assisting in the fundraiser.
