Thunderstorms and showers throughout Brown County in the past week have caused Lake Brownwood water levels to rise almost 2 feet in the last 5 days according to the Brown County Water Development District.
Lake Brownwood is currently at 1,425.24 feet, .24 feet above spillway and slowly rising.
“We’re in really good shape, with about four-tenths over spillway, and it should maintain for several days,” said Dennis Spinks, the General Manager for the Brown County Water Development District.
“We’re overjoyed to have the lake full going into the winter and hopefully when summer rolls around it will still be full.”
The National Weather Service shows a 20% chance of rain for the area through tomorrow night with more chances for rain on Friday.
