Wednesday, October 26
*1:42 PM – Brownwood Police officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Main Blvd. regarding a burglary in progress. According to the report, a neighbor witnessed two male subjects breaking into the backdoor of a residence. Officers arrived to find the door broken and open and observed two males standing in the back room of the residence, the report states. The males’ backs were to the officers and they appeared to be going through items on and near a wooden dresser in the room, according to the officer’s report. The officers commanded the two suspect males out of the residence and onto the ground at gunpoint, the report states. The males, identified as 55-year-old James Anthony Bilbrey, Sr. and 55-year-old Freddie Delvin Thomas of Brownwood, appeared surprised they had been caught and obeyed the commands, according to the officer’s report. Bilbrey claimed the residence belonged to a friend of his and that the pair had permission to be at the residence; however, the resident was contacted and he stated that he did not know either Bilbrey or Thomas, the report states. Both Bilbrey and Thomas were arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation. Bilbrey was also arrested on an active warrant out of Austin Pardon and parole.
*2:00 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Avenue I regarding the theft of a wallet which contained identifying information.
*3:29 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of Bluffview and Cordell for speeding over the limit/school zone. Consent to search the vehicle was granted by the driver and drug paraphernalia was located. The driver was issued two citations for the offenses.
*4:33 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3700 block of Savoy Drive regarding a citizens’ dispute.
*4:49 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1900 block of 11th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, a laptop and its carrying case were stolen from the vehicle. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*9:23 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Magnolia regarding an unwanted person. According to the report, the complainant stated that the unwanted subject had left the apartment and had taken his laptop and Playstation 3.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 55-year-old Teresa Rochelle Freeman of May for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone and tamper/fabricate physical evidence.
*51-year-old John Michael Salazar turned himself in on a warrant related to manufacture delivery of a controlled substance.
Thursday, October 27
*9:02 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of 9th Street regarding disorderly conduct.
*9:05 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 300 block of Gil Street. According to the report, during the stop, a considerable amount of marijuana, packaging materials, narcotics and digital scales were located hidden inside the vehicle. As a result of this stop, 20-year-old Juan Francisco Chacon, Jr. of Brownwood was arrested for possession of marijuana in a drug free zone and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams in a drug free zone.
*9:10 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 3800 block of 1st Street regarding debit/credit card abuse.
*1:30 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to County Road 153 regarding the theft of a television. According to the report, a known possible suspect has been named and the complainant wished to pursue charges.
*2:05 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Campa Drive regarding theft.
*10:22 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road 569 regarding an assault. According to the report, contact was made with the victim, suspect, and witnesses and injuries were observed to the victim. After an investigation, it was determined one of the witness, identified as 39-year-old Leslie Kay Millican of Brownwood, was the aggressor, the report states. Millican was arrested and charged with assault causes bodily injury.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 18-year-old Kyren Stephen Long of Brookesmith on a warrant related to minor in possession.
