The BAA Photo Group will host their “All About Texas” photography exhibit and reception on Thursday, October 6th, from 5-8 p.m. at the Brownwood Art Association Art Center, 215 Fisk Avenue, in downtown Brownwood. Over 120 photos have been entered into the exhibit by twenty members of the local photography group. Images focusing on rustic landscapes, Texas life, historical figures, livestock and more are displayed in the Art Center. Many of the photographs will be for sale to the general public. Cash, check, credit, or debit forms of payment can all be accepted during the reception.
This is the fifth year for the photography exhibit. Tying into this year’s Texas theme, BBQ catered by the Diamond R Store & Café will be served, and attendees can enjoy country music by Bob Brewer. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend. The Photographer of the Year will be selected from 11 candidates: Craig Seger, Amanda Coers, Anthony Reine, Roger Levesque, Pat Coursey, Roger Engle, Nelle Coursey, Thomas Pettengill, Amanda White, Karla Reece, and Fred Spencer. The winner will be announced during the reception on Thursday. The public is also encouraged to vote for their favorite photo and a “People’s Choice” winner will also be selected.
This event is sponsored by KTXS, the Brownwood Art Association, the Arts Council, ASAP Creative Arts, Down Home Digital, and Brookshire’s.
