Local residents may have noticed a new sign at the Corner of Main Street and Center Avenue this week that welcomes the public to Downtown Brownwood.
The Brownwood Chamber’s tourism department, with the leadership of Tourism Director Sunni Modawell, has been working on a new sign for this location for a while. The sign replaces an older wooden sign that was at the location previously, but had to be removed some time ago because of weather damage.
The new sign was designed and installed by local artist Darrin St. Ama and catches attendtion day or night.
“This is a great sign to mark the gateway to the downtown area,” said Brownwood Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ray Tipton. “If you have not seen it yet, I encourage you to drive by and take a look. The lighted effect on the sign at night is pretty amazing.”
