Funeral Services for Tonya Morales, age 66, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at High Mesa Cowboy Church with Pastor Todd King officiating; burial will follow at Rocky Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
Tonya, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 1, 2016.
Tonya was born to James and Antonia (Gonzales) Darnell on January 25, 1950 in Amarillo, Texas. She married the love of her life, Paul Morales, on October 23, 1964 in Amarillo. Tonya was the owner of Tonya’s Café in Jayton before retiring and moving to Brownwood. She was well known for her famous carne guisada.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Paul Morales of Brownwood; children, Paul Morales and wife Ann of Brownwood, Michael Morales and wife Tiffany of Brownwood, Christine Bennett and husband Roy of Snyder, Marc Morales and wife Stacy of Conroe; 11 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 12 great-grandchildren; and brothers, David Loza, Richard Darnell and wife Dorothy, Johnny Darnell and wife Mary Lou all of Amarillo. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Tonya was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Phillip Loza; and sister-in-law, Martha Loza.
