The Brown County Fair Association has a long history of taking care of its own, and it is once again doing so during this year’s annual rodeo week.
Jessica Armour, a junior at Zephyr High School, is a busy competitor at the Brown County Fair Association each year, showing numerous animal and homemaking projects. Earlier this year, Jessica was a candidate for the title of Brown County Youth Fair Queen and finished the contest as 2nd Runner Up.
On May 21st of this year, Jessica was severely injured in a one-vehicle accident on FM 590 outside of Zephyr and suffered major injuries as a result.
During the Fair Association’s Membership Dinner this Wednesday, as well as each night of the Brown County Rodeo, the Fair Association will pass Jars for Jessica, asking fans and participants alike to donate to a fund from which 100% of the monies will be given to the Armour family to assist in defraying medical costs and travel expenses.
Also, Jars for Jessica will be posted at each Entry Gate and Concession Stand for extra change and donations.
The Fair Association asks its membership and the public-at-large to generously donate to Jars for Jessica, helping to ease a major burden for one of their member families and continue the legacy of supporting the youth of Brown County.
