Billie Sigler Locker went home to be with Jesus on Friday, March 25, 2016, in Midlothian at the home of her daughter, Jenifer Locker Zipp. Billie was born Sept. 21, 1920 in Memphis, Texas to George Scott Sigler and Inez Jones Sigler.

Billie was trained as a registered nurse at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio. It was June 1940 that she met her handsome prince, Braswell Locker. A week after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Billie enlisted in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and was stationed at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, where they married on March 14, 1942. After the war, they made their home in Brownwood, raising their four children, Braswell Jr., Dan Lewis, Jenifer Locker Zipp, and David Sigler Locker.

Billie loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and has been a role model for many young women as she served Him in her church. She and Braswell made a home away from home for many HPU students over the years.

She is survived by her children, Braswell Jr. and wife Ginger Locker, Dan Lewis and wife Cynthia Locker, Jenifer Locker Zipp and husband Buddy, and David Sigler Locker and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Ty Locker, Tim Locker and wife Julie and their sons, Nate and Chance; Chad Locker and wife Meredith and their children, Ella Grace and Blake; Susanna Locker Williams and children, Melody and Zane; Valerie Locker Parks and husband Tom and children, Fayth, Daniel, Joye and Hope; Rachel Locker Schuch and husband Nathan and son Gabriel; Dan Ryan Locker and wife Mandy and children Jackson, Reagan, and Madison; Paul Roland Zipp and wife Michele and children, Isaiah, Trinity, Abigail, Samuel, Philip, Silas, Timothy, Serenity; Peter Bryan Zipp and wife Johanna and children, Bryan, Benjamen, and Jacob; Hannah Elizabeth Zipp; Robert Braswell Locker and wife Megan and daughter Brooke.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday March 28, 2016 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.
