Two people were flown for treatment after a two-vehicle accident in the 2700 block of Belle Plain in Brownwood.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. Wednesday afternoon when a Ford Taurus pulled onto Belle Plain, colliding with a king cab Chevrolet pickup.
According to witnesses on scene, the female driver of the Taurus pulled onto the roadway from the driveway of a nearby residence, and the truck which struck the Ford was traveling north on Belle Plain.
The female was airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth by Native Air of Hamilton for treatment of her injuries which were reported to be related to neck and back complaints. Emergency responders stated that she was in and out of consciousness at the time of the accident and had to be stabilized before transport.
A male passenger of the pickup was also air lifted, taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene by Air Evac Lifeteam of Eastland, for possible head injury. The male patient was reported to be conscious at the time of the accident and transport. The driver of the pickup was up and walking around; however, stated his leg and arm were injured and painful.
Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers Michael Sams and Tyler Moses are investigating the accident.
Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Brownwood Fire Department, Allegiance Ambulance, Air Evac, and Native Air responded to the scene of the accident.
