Felony Offenders Sentenced in District Court

BrownCountyDistrictCourtLogoDistrict Attorney Micheal Murray reported that several felony cases were recently heard in Brown/Mills County District Court, Judge Stephen Ellis presiding.

Xan Clark Duncan pled no contest to the felony offense of Retaliation and was sentenced to 25 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.

Kathie Paxton AKA Jaylana Taylor AKA Jaylana Sain pled guilty to the felony offenses of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence and was sentenced to 25 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division in each case.

James Sherman Little, on probation for the felony offenses of Endangering a Child and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver – Drug Free Zone was revoked and sentenced to 5 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division in each case.   Further, Little pled guilty to the felony offense of Injury to a Child and was sentenced to 2 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.

Micheal Andrew Penn pled guilty to the lesser included offense of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity – Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, four grams or more but less than 200 grams, and was sentenced to 5 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.  Further, Penn pled guilty to the state jail felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to 1 year, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.

Andrew Eugene Bradshaw pled guilty to the felony offenses of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Drug Free Zone and Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Drug Free Zone and was sentenced to 3 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.  Further, Bradshaw pled guilty to the state jail felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to 2 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.

Enrique Garza pled guilty to the felony offense of Unlawful Possession of Firearm and was sentenced to 2 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.

Joseph Martinez pled guilty to the state jail felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and was sentenced to 12 months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
