LewisHazelGone Away

An Angel whispered take my hand and come with me your work here is done. I went away to a place where there’s no tears, nor will sorrow, only laughter and smiles, there always be a tomorrow.  As I move amongst the clouds. I’ll look down and smile upon you, while the angels sing a heavenly song.  I am not alone, all who went before are here, and they waited my return.  I know you’ll grieve and wish I was still here.  I am here in the memories you hold dear.

Hazel Lenora Lewis was born on October 7, 1941 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Clarence Columbus and Cleo Bead Snow Floyd. On May 3, 1957, she married Theodore Lewis in Midland.  Hazel was a beautician for 35 years working many of those at the Bobbie Pin in Brownwood.  She was also a certified nurse’s aide and worked for Care Inc. for ten years.  One of Hazel’s greatest joys was playing Bingo.  She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.  Hazel passed awayFriday, February 6, 2015 in Brownwood Regional Medical Center at the age of seventy three.

Survivors include her husband Lee Lewis; children Terry Lewis, Jerry Lewis, Cherie Lewis and husband Will Westerman, Kristie Lewis and husband Shane McClain and Tami Belveal all of Brownwood, Texas; one sister Connie Floyd and grandchildren Ronnie and Sarah Lewis of California, Monty and Katie Lewis of Brownwood, Michael and Illa Lewis of Stephenville, Dustin Martin and Jewell Baker of San Antonio, Brandon and Ariel Lewis of San Antonio and Shylan, Trenton, Bryson, Heather, and Heaven all of Brownwood and by twelve great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ralph Floyd and grandparents.

A Memorial Service for Hazel Lewis, age 73, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 12, 2014 at the New Beginnings Church.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early.
