Brownwood ISD released copies of the district’s and Superintendent Reece Blincoe’s resignation agreement Friday afternoon after Blincoe submitted his letter of resignation. The Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees and Blincoe reached an agreement at a special called meeting Thursday night as Blincoe resigned his position as superintendent of the district effective January 31, 2016 and will be on paid administrative leave effective February 1, 2015.
According to the agreement and information released by the district, Blincoe will be put on paid administrative leave through January 31, 2016 and will receive his current annual salary of $151,232.
In addition, the agreement states that Blincoe will be receive an additional $150,000 lump sum payment on or before March 1, 2016. Blincoe may forfeit a portion of this compensation if he agrees to other outside compensated employment approved by BISD.
Blincoe is required to clear out his office and return all school property in his possession by February 5th.
BISD will begin discussion Monday at a special called meeting of the board on appointing an interim superintendent.
Blincoe stated that he is at peace with the agreement and is looking forward to some time off. Trustees and Blincoe have stated that there are no ill feelings between them.
