The May Community and Salvation Army invite the public to join in a “Community Christmas Celebration” to benefit the Salvation Army on Saturday, December 13th from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Community Christmas Celebration will take place at the May Community Center and admission is free.
Everyone is invited to sing Christmas carols with the Abundant Life Church Praise Band and also enjoy an unforgettable theatric performance with Frosty the Snowman by the “Sweet Hattalines” of the Red Hat Society.
Santa Claus will be there too, ready to hear every child’s Christmas wish. Parents are reminded to bring their cameras for family photos in a “one-horse open sleigh.” Children are also invited to participate in cookie decorating and holiday crafts.
There’s something for everyone. Nativity scenes shared from the community will be on display to retell the story of the miraculous gift of the first Christmas. Take a stroll down Christmases past with exhibits which will answer questions about the season, such as: Where do Christmas traditions come from? Why do we hang stockings and mistletoe?
There will also be live music, hot chocolate, sweets, and other festivities which organizers promise “are sure to warm the hearts and spirits of old and young alike.”
So, mark your calendar, consider making a donation for the Salvation Army, and come to the charming town of May for a joyful “Community Christmas Celebration.”
