Betty Sue Dillingham passed away peacefully with family at her side on Thursday, the 4th of December 2014, in Arlington, Texas. She was loved and is survived by her son Craig Dillingham, two daughters Janice Henderson and Suzanne Thomson and her husband Don, two grandchildren, Amy and Ty Henderson, and his wife Rheannon, as well as three great grandchildren, Emma, Tatum and Nash Henderson.
Betty was born in Eastland, Texas June 21, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents Dean and Susie Brinkley and also her two older brothers Teddy and Earl.
She spent most of her life living in Brownwood, Texas. She was in love with W. C. (Dub) Dillingham her husband of 56 years who preceded her death in 2003. After Dub retired they left Brownwood and built a home on the family ranch near Briggs in Burnet County Texas. They both had a passion for travel, and they would often spend weeks at a time traveling from coast to coast in their converted bus. Betty had a strong faith and an incredible spirit. She was truly loved by everyone who ever knew her. She couldn’t pass up a good garage sale, and she had an eye and a knack for finding a good bargain. She was a loving wife and an incredible mother to her children as well as her grandchildren.
Betty never met a stranger. There are so many stories to tell by those who were lucky enough to know her. We will all miss her warm sweet smile, but she will continue to live on in our hearts.
Betty and her family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Austin Jr. and his wonderful staff at Arlington Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion during the last days of her life.
A memorial service is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, December 13th in the Sneed Funeral Chapel, 201 East 3rd St. Lampasas, Texas 76550.
