The Christmas season is fast approaching and holiday activities in Brownwood will be kicking off next week.
The annual Spirit of Christmas Lighted Parade will usher in the Christmas Under the Stars weekend. The parade will take place on Thursday, December 4th starting at 6:30 PM in downtown Brownwood.
The parade, sponsored by Texas Rock Crusher Railway, will feature a railroad theme and will begin at the Depot Plaza area on Adams Street, will turn on Center Avenue, go around the Brown County Courthouse, and then turn on to Fisk Street. The parade will be recorded by KTXS-TV and will be rebroadcast at a later date.
Parade entry forms are available online at BrownwoodChristmas.com.
The 6th Annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival will take place Friday, December 5th and Saturday, December 6th at the Depot Plaza Complex and the Lehnis Railroad Museum each night from 4 PM to 8 PM.
Funnel Cakes and hot chocolate are a few of the tasty treats to try while the children can build crosses and decorate Christmas ornaments, cookies, and other fun holiday activities. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be on hand for the kids.
This year will also include the Treats for Santa Competition and Big Wheel Races for kids and adults.
Glide around the ice skating rink then stroll to the Railroad Museum and experience miniature train demos as well as live entertainment and mini train rides.
