Brownwood Art Association Announces Community Art Show People’s Choice Award Winners

CommunityArtShow2014_1The Brownwood Art Association opened their Community Art Show Friday, September 19th during the Brownwood Reunion Celebration and announced People’s Choice award winners on Sunday.  The show will run through Tuesday, September 30th.

Visitors of the exhibit had a chance to vote for their favorite artwork during the three day festival.

The top People’s Choice Award was presented to Reba Watson for her oil painting entitled “Real Heroes.”  Watson received a $100 cash prize.

Aimee Shivvers Peek placed second with her untitled multi-canvas acrylic painting of a tree.  Peek received a $50 cash prize.

Colby Compton earned third place with his very realistic colored pencil and graphite drawing of a human eye, entitled “Eye.”  Compton received a $25 cash prize.

The show, featuring a variety of artwork including paintings, drawings, digital artwork and even a mosaic vase will continue through the end of the month at the Brownwood Art Center (215 Fisk Street).
