Maddie Oines was crowned homecoming queen Friday night at Gordon Wood Stadium during halftime of the Brownwood vs. Alvarado homecoming game.
She was one of five homecoming queen nominees along with Lexie Lewis, Jennifer Martinez, Jennifer Hinojosa, and Coraima Rodriguez.
Oines is the daughter of Dr. Steve and Lynette Oines. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Choices and Crime Stoppers, and has received the academic award of Summa Cum Laude the past two years. Maddie has been cheering for the Brownwood Lions the past four years and is currently a captain of the 2014 Varsity Cheer Squad. She is involved in Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Soccer, being named first team all-district in both sports. Additionally, she is an active member of the youth group at First United Methodist Church where she also sings in the worship band. Maddie plans to attend Texas A&M University next fall.
