District Attorney Micheal Murray reports that several felony cases were recently heard in Brown/Mills County District Court, Judge Stephen Ellis presiding.
William Dewayne Covington pled guilty to the felony offense of Indecency with a Child by Exposure and was sentenced to 6 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
Whitney Lord pled guilty to the felony offense of Injury to an Elderly Individual arising from an incident where she assaulted a disabled nursing home resident. Lord requested District Judge Stephen Ellis to assess her punishment. After a contested hearing, the Judge assessed Lord’s sentence at 4 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
Karen Leigh Dempsey aka Karen Leigh Davis* pled guilty to the felony offense of Driving While Intoxicated and was sentenced to 3 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
Jacklyn Sue Pace pled guilty to the felony offense of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Credit Card or Debit Card Abuse and was sentenced to 15 months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division in each case.
