LECSmLaw enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, December 5, 2013.

Monday, December 2

*10:47 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding a complaint of terroristic threat.  According to the report, the complainant, who is going through a divorce, desired to report text messages sent from her husband threatening bodily harm to her.

Wednesday, December 4

*8:42 Pm – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Melwood regarding criminal mischief that occurred sometime in the overnight or early morning hours.  The incident is under investigation.

*9:48 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Southside Drive regarding a juvenile problem.  According to the report, a student who was responsible for the damage was identified by BISD employees.

*1:55 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 600 block of Fisk Avenue regarding a hit and run.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he had been to several businesses during the day and was unsure of when or where the damage had occurred.  He noticed the damage at his last stop, the report states.

*4:28 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart regarding an irate customer.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a customer was upset over merchandise that had been stolen from the customer service counter.  The complainant advised that someone had stolen the merchandise and when the customer was questioned about the merchandise, he began yelling and throwing items, the report states.  The customer refused to calm down and would not provide information about the incident and was subsequently issued a criminal trespass warning, then asked to leave the store.

*5:52 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of Avenue C regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, when officers arrived, the female half of the disturbance had left with a third party.  The male half of the disturbance explained that he had returned from work and gotten into an argument with his wife and during the argument, the passenger door handle of his mother’s vehicle was broken by his wife.

*9:25 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 600 block of Fisk Avenue for a traffic violation.  As the vehicle came to a stop, the driver exited the vehicle and began evading on foot.  The subject was apprehended and identified as 27-year-old Daniel Santos Morales, Jr., the report states.  Morales was arrested on a warrant related to failure to appear/forgery and resist arrest search or transport.  Morales is being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bond.

*10:53 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of 10th Street regarding the burglary of a habitation.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of identity theft.  According to the report, the victim stated that a television was leased in his name in Columbia, South Carolina on a credit card, which does not belong to him, but appears to be under his name.

*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 44-year-old Shane Alen Bennett for fraud, delivery of a controlled substance/prescription schedule II.

*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 27-year-old Cathlene Cicle Callahan of Bangs on Bangs municipal warrants related to violate promise to appear and open container.

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Tabatha Lee Hyles on a parole warrant.

*24-year-old Cheyney Ortiz turned herself in on a warrant for failure to appear/theft by check.

*Early Police arrested 23-year-old Gregory Cole Solis of Brady for driving while license invalid with previous conviction, possession of a dangerous drug and on a warrant for driving while license invalid with previous conviction/suspension without financial responsibility.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
