Brownwood Police responded to the report of an assault in the 1600-1700 block of Main Blvd. at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday which left one man with a laceration to his leg.
According to law enforcement, the injured male had head-butted a female earlier in the day, and when his girlfriend and the female came to pick up the girlfriend’s belongings along with two other males, an argument ensued. The female told police that she thought things could become heated so she brought a knife, which was being carried in her hand beside her leg as she walked. When the male approached her and chest bumped her, the knife cut his leg, according to the woman’s account to police.
The male was taken to the emergency room; however, he was under the influence of narcotics according to police, and decided to run off from the hospital before receiving stitches for the laceration, wearing only his boxers. Police later located the male.
No arrests were made at the time of the incident, which is pending further investigation.

*2:00 PM – Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, the complainant’s mother had called her stating that a known male had broken into her home and she asked her daughter to report the crime.
Wednesday, November 20
*11:38 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1500 block of 9th Street regarding an expired registration. The stop led to the arrest of 51-year-old Geronimo Mendieta for driving while license invalid with no liability insurance as well as possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*3:14 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Avenue G regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, a vehicle had been vandalized. Witnesses were present and a suspect was identified, the report states.
*8:15 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 100 block of S. Washington regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, no bodily injury had occurred; however, the residence was in disarray. During the initial investigation, the female party involved left the residence for the night and the disturbance was settled by separation, the report states.
*11:21 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, investigation determined that a domestic disturbance had not occurred. Officers continued their investigation and found a white sock next to the house which contained a crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine, pills, and a glass pipe consistent with methamphetamine smoking. Both subjects involved in the disturbance stated that they were unaware of who the sock or its contents belonged to, the report states. The owner of the house was unavailable at the time of the investigation. A report was taken for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 equal or greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams; possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3 less than 28 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police. Possible suspects were also listed on the report.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 36-year-old Fredrick Wayne Benson on a warrant related to failure to appear.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43-year-old Sabrina Lee Forrester on a warrant related to motion to revoke/driving while intoxicated 1st.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 19-year-old Jackson Brook Weekley of Early on warrants related to no driver’s license and drove without lights.
Thursday, November 21
*12:10 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of San Benito Drive regarding a destruction of personal property. According to the report, the complainant stated that his girlfriend had become angry with him when he would not give her his beer. In retaliation, she threw his stereo system out of her vehicle and the stereo (valued at $200) shattered when it hit the ground.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Kimberly Rebecca Mendez of Killeen on a warrant related to theft equal or greater than $20 less than $500.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Stephen Wayne Shores of Early on an indictment for burglary of a building. Shores is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
