Brown County emergency responders were called to a one-vehicle rollover accident on FM 590, just outside of Zephyr, on Thursday morning.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m., as the 18-year-old male driver of the Ford pickup was traveling south on FM 590, about a half mile from the Zephyr School campus.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Mitchell Best, it appeared the driver went off the road slightly and overcorrected, losing control of the vehicle which flipped onto its side and struck a tree along the fence line.
Emergency responders on scene stated that the driver was initially trapped inside the vehicle but was found to be alert and talking when they arrived. After the door was pried open, the driver was able to walk away from the accident. He sustained cuts to his face and arms and was transported by ambulance to Brownwood Regional Medical Center to be evaluated and treated as a precaution.
Zephyr Volunteer Fire Department, Early Volunteer Fire Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Early Police Department and Guardian EMS responded to the scene of the accident.
