Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) enriches, encourages and empowers children to reach their highest potential through a safe, positive mentoring relationship, and one local boy is looking for a mentor of his own. Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is about making a lasting difference in a child’s life through friendship.
BBBS would like to introduce Hayden. He’s a shy six-year-old who would like a Big Brother to play with in the park. He loves to play ball, ride bikes and spend time outside. Trains and trucks are his favorite things to play with. Soft Pretzels, hot dogs and peanut butter sandwiches are his favorite foods. He’s friendly, imaginative, creative and funny.
You don’t have to change your life to change someone else’s; it just takes something small, like sharing a few hours a month (4-20). Currently there are 51 children waiting to be matched with a caring and safe mentor. Volunteers can serve as a ‘Big Brother,’ ‘Big Sister,’ ‘Big Couple’ or even a ‘Big Family.’
To become a ‘Big’ please contact the BBBS office at 325-643-5600, email Jared Weaver [email protected], come by the office in the Family Services Center at 901 Ave. B in Brownwood or get more information online at bbbstx.org. The Big Brothers Big Sisters is a United Way agency supported by local donors.
