Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes proclaimed October as Good Samaritan Ministries month Tuesday during city council meeting to mark the 20th anniversary of the organization.
“We have so many great charities in our community that do a great work for our residents,” Haynes said. “Good Samaritan is certainly at the top of the list and it is appropriate that we recognize them.”
Angelia Bostick and Good Samaritan Ministries board members Curtis Shults and Doil Hammons were present for the reading of the proclamation.
Good Samaritan Ministries was founded in October 1993. Their ministries include a food pantry, Food for Thought and the Deer Project, a resale clothing store, and limited financial assistance with utilities, rent and medicine.
