Tuesday, August 20

*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the theft of a utility trailer valued at $1800.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the trailer was last seen at a relative’s residence on Pecan Street at Tamarack Mountain on August 16th and he discovered it missing on this date.  The trailer is described as a black utility trailer with faded red underneath, weighing 4,000 lbs. gross weight, 16 feet long with two axles.

Wednesday, August 21

*5:22 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle at the intersection of River Oaks Drive and Indian Creek Road that failed to signal a turn within 100 feet of the intersection.  According to the report, the vehicle failed to stop when the deputy initiated a traffic stop and a pursuit was initiated.  The vehicle continued approximately 2 miles through the streets of Brownwood, and pulled into a driveway on 11th Street.  The driver, identified as 51-year-old John Philip Couch, was arrested and charged with evading arrest in a vehicle, a state jail felony, the report states.

*7:05 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Durham Avenue regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  The complainant advised that someone entered her unlocked vehicle on August 19th and removed her purse.  There was no other information at the time and the investigation is ongoing, the report states.

*8:23 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Avenue A regarding a follow-up.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her vehicle had been burglarized on August 15th and her purse was stolen.

*9:21 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Elizabeth Drive regarding the theft of a bicycle.  According to the report, the complainant’s Cannondale Quick bicycle was stolen off of her brother-in-law’s front porch.

*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hwy 279 at County Road 102 on a vehicle for no license plate lamp.  According to the report, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 57-year-old David Lee Bergman, had an outstanding pardon and parole warrant from Austin and was placed under arrest.  During an inventory of the vehicle, a small wooden box containing marijuana was located behind the driver’s seat, the report states.

*Brownwood Police arrested 20-year-old Christopher James Cotton for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

*Brownwood Police arrested 48-year-old Bernard Crowder for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 3/4 less than 28 grams, possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, and on an outstanding Comanche County warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

*Brownwood Police arrested 60-year-old Aubrey Gene Ferguson on a warrant for motion to revoke/driving while intoxicated.

*Brownwood Police arrested 28-year-old Lola Marie Pollard for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 3/4 less than 28 grams, possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, and on an outstanding Comanche County warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
