Reports released for the week of August 12-18, 2013 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 18 medical emergencies, 1 fire call, 1 electrical call, 1 motor vehicle accident, and 1 hazardous materials call.
Tuesday, August 13
*6:19 PM – BFD was received a fire call in the 2000 block of Slayden. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a small grass fire which was quickly extinguished.
Thursday, August 15
*12:37 PM – BFD responded to a downed power line in the 2400 block of Songbird. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a telephone pole broken in half with electrical lines on the cab of a truck. Oncor arrived on scene and disabled the power lines. Fire crews notified area businesses of the power outage until Oncor could repair the damaged lines.
*4:04 PM – BFD was dispatched to a hazardous materials call on Avenue K. Fire crews investigated a smell of smoke in the area. After investigating the area, nothing was found and fire crews cleared the scene.
Friday, August 16
*7:04 AM – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Coggin Avenue at 16th Street involving a single vehicle striking a utility pole. Fire crews assisted with patient care and assisted with loading the patient into Guardian EMS ambulances.
