Stanley John Wloshinski, 83, of Brownwood passed from this life on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Friday June 7, 2013, at St. Mary’s Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Brownwood. Burial will follow at Henderson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM Thursday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood.
Stanley was born on November 12, 1929, in Springfield, Ohio to Stanley and Elva Elisabeth Bowermeister Wloshinski. He married Norma Wirkner on October 9, 1954 and together they came to Brownwood in August of 2004, where he enjoyed the warm climate, abundant sunshine and being close to his daughters. Stanley proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Prior to, and after his military service he worked for Crowell Collier Publishing Company. Later he worked for Quick Manufacturing Inc. and the Elliott Company where he retired. Stanley was a lifelong Catholic and member of St. Mary’s Queen of Peace in Brownwood and former member of St. Joseph’s in Springfield, Ohio. He loved people, animals, swimming, amusement parks (especially riding roller coasters), flowered Hawaiian shirts, exercising, chocolate milk and baseball. Stanley was a frequent season pass holder at Kings Island in Ohio. He was a fun loving and easy going father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Stanley is survived by his children, David Filler and wife JoAnn of Springfield, Ohio, Susan Goble of Brownwood, Louise Jenkins and husband David of Lubbock, Texas and John Wloshinski and wife Elizabeth of Stafford, Virginia; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Norma Wloshinski; parents, Stanley and Elva Wloshinski; son-in-law, William “Butch” Goble and great granddaughter, Skye Goble. Condolences for the family may be left at www.davismorrisfuneralhome.com .
