The top 3 students from each 3rd grade class at Northwest Elementary competed in a multiplication bee on May 16th. The event took place in the cafeteria at Northwest and principal, Candace Wilson, led the competition.
During each round, two students face off against each other to be the first to answer a multiplication problem displayed on a flash card. If a student answers first, they move forward. After pushing through a set of problems, the student in the lead advances.
After several rounds of head-to-head competition, Alexa Arreola emerged as the 1st place winner. The top 3 students received medals, and Lion Pride dog-tags were awarded to all the competitors for their hard work.
