Friday, April 12
*9:05 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room regarding the possible sexual assault of a child. According to the report, a female juvenile made an outcry regarding the assault and an investigation is underway with Child Protective Services.
*11:55 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Fisk Avenue regarding fraud. According to the report, the complainant stated that a male subject allegedly forged her signature on documents and that she wished to pursue charges.
*3:27 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Avenue A regarding theft. According to the report, a witness stated that a male subject had taken a window unit air conditioner from his neighbor and then ran through an alley. After the investigation, the subject, identified as 19-year-old Terry Reed, Jr. was placed under arrest for theft greater or equal to $50 less than $500 with previous convictions.
*4:58 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Looney Street regarding theft. According to the report, two suspects known to the store had allegedly broken their rental contract with Color Tyme and “absconded” with Color Tyme property.
*9:31 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of 13th Street regarding disorderly conduct. According to the report, a female subject stated that 36-year-old James Franklin Perkins had broken into her apartment and assaulted a male subject. This call led to the arrest of Perkins for burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault. James was additionally charged with injury to an elderly individual.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received the report of an attempted scam. According to the report, the male complainant stated that he had a vacuum cleaner for sale on Craig’s List for $800; however he found a buyer that sent him a $2300 check via FedEx overnight delivery and was instructed to deposit it into his bank account and then contact the buyer when this was completed, the report states. The check was reported to have been written on an account for a gas technology company in Kentucky; however the buyer used a cell phone with a West Virginia area code and the FedEx envelope was sent from Thousand Oaks, California according to the report. Sheriff Grubbs warns the public that there are a number of ongoing scams that well-meaning people have fell victim to and that people should be abundantly cautious on any internet related opportunities.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 40-year-old Amos Carlisle, Jr. for driving while license invalid with no insurance.
*Early Police Department arrested 26-year-old Seth Evan Clark of Early for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*Early Police Department arrested 20-year-old Beverly Kay Clayton for possession of drug paraphernalia.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Charles Fisher of Temple on a Bell County warrant for theft of property equal or greater than $500 less than $1500.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Daniel Jet McElhaney on two warrants for his arrest related to no drivers license when unlicensed – not CDL and speeding.
*37-year-old Lisa Dawn Sawyers turned herself in on a warrant for her arrest related to theft by check.
Saturday, April 13
*3:25 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 2000 block of Elizabeth regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, the call led to the arrest of 31-year-old Brandon Eugene Burke for assault with injury family violence/strangulation. Burke was being at the Brown County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond as of Monday morning.
*1:36 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1100 block of Irma Street regarding an assault. According to the complainant, her daughter became angry when she was told she couldn’t go out with friends and began kicking things, including a radio off of a bed and the complainant’s leg, causing her pain. The juvenile female was detained and processed through the Brownwood Police Department before she was released to the custody of the Brown County Juvenile Probation Office.
*3:49 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 700 block of Oak Street regarding a civil matter. According to the report, the calling party stated that a friend of her son’s took his car and the friend was intoxicated. After an investigation, 25-year-old Jerry Douglas Allen, Jr. was arrested for driving while intoxicated 3rd or more, the report states.
*3:51 PM _ Brownwood Police were dispatched to a residence on Stonebridge Circle regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, two purses were taken from a vehicle parked in the home’s garage. The complainant’s items were found and returned to her; however the complainant does wish to pursue charges when suspects are identified, the report states.
*6:14 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle at Commerce and Beaver Street regarding a traffic violation. According to the report, the deputy could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Upon conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle, the deputy located a plastic baggie of marijuana under the front passenger seat, the report states. The passenger, identified as 21-year-old Larry James Bryant, Jr., claimed ownership of the marijuana and was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, the report states.
*8:13PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy observed a speeding violation, a vehicle traveling northbound at 81 mph on FM 2559 in a 70 mph zone. According to the report, the deputy witnessed the driver throw what appeared to be a beer can out of the passenger window. As a result of the stop, the driver identified as 45-year-old Victor McCallie of May was arrested for driving while intoxicated with child passenger under 15, the report states. McCallie was transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room for a voluntary blood specimen and then transported to the Brown County Jail, the report states.
*Early Police arrested 58-year-old Paul George Challenger of Early for disorderly conduct.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 30-year-old Ashley Nichole Duncan for driving while intoxicated 3rd or more.
Sunday, April 14
*1:13 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1000 block of W. Commerce regarding speeding, 54 mph in a 45 mph zone. This call led to the arrest of 31-year-old Diana Mendeita of Corpus Christi for driving while intoxicated 1st and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
*4:44 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Austin Avenue, CVS Pharmacy, regarding theft. According to the report, an unknown male entered the store and shoplifted some beef jerky.
*10:27 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of W. Austin Avenue regarding the burglary of a building. According to the report, the complainant stated that an unknown subject made forced entry into the building and stole an unknown amount of cash and coins from a change machine, estimated to be in excess of $3200.
*2:01 PM – Brownwood Police responded to a hit and run in the 1400 block of Austin Avenue. According to the report, the complainant noticed after finishing her shopping, that her truck had been struck on the passenger side, causing a long white gash and dent from the passenger door to the bed of the vehicle. Officers were unable to locate any suspects. The victim did wish to pursue charges if any suspect could be identified.
*10:11 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1600 block of 2nd Street regarding a burglary. According to the report, the officer spoke to four males who advised that their residence had been broken into sometime between the hours of 10:00 PM on April 13th and 10:00 AM April 14th. Items missing include three XBox controllers valued at $150, XBox game valued at $60, an iPhone charger, and 15 Coors Lite bottles.
*Brownwood Police arrested 18-year-old Anthony Aguirre for theft of property equal or greater than $500 less than $1500.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old Johnny Wayne Baker of Early on two warrants for his arrest related to public intoxication and violate promise to appear.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 47-year-old Samantha Marie Hellinger of Bangs for driving while intoxicated 2nd and driving while license invalid with no insurance.
*Early police arrested 30-year-old Nicholous Leroy Hutchison for driving while license invalid with previous conviction
*23-year-old James Lee Kinsey of Early turned himself in on a warrant related to failure to appear/driving while license invalid with previous conviction.
*Brownwood Police arrested 17-year-old Juan Ramon Romero for theft of property equal or greater than $500 less than $1500.
Monday, April 15
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43-year-old Onal Dean Johnson on a Bexar County warrant for his arrest related to criminal mischief equal to or greater than $50 and less than $500.
*Bangs Police arrested 28-year-old Michael Matthew Roth of Bangs for assault class C.
