Brownwood Art Association invites the public to their “First Thursday” event on April 4th from 5-8pm at the Brownwood Art Center, 215 Fisk.
This month’s “First Thursday” will feature the art of Martha Middleton.
Middleton states she has always loved drawing and painting. She completed commercial art classes in high school and minored in art at Howard Payne University. She retired as a social worker and opened her own studio in 2004, and Middleton states that is when she “really started getting serious about her work.”
Middleton is a member of the Brownwood Art Association and is heavily involved in the local art community, serving as a board member and helping with fundraisers.
Middleton was recently named the association’s artist of the year for 2013.
This event is free of charge and organizers invite the community to bring their family and friends to enjoy art and refreshments at this come and go event.
