The Brownwood Jaycees will host their 49th Annual Lone Star Fair and Expo Rattlesnake Roundup Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17 at the Brownwood Coliseum.
The “Texas Snake Man” Jackie Bibby will be back to amaze those in attendance with stunts such as the sleeping bag full of rattlers and putting multiple snakes in his mouth. Bibby is known for breaking several world records involving rattlesnakes.
There will be contests that are a spectacle to make most anyone shake in their boots with lots of rattlesnakes and people willing to play with them.
For the kids there will be a Rattlesnake Roundup Coloring Contest for student kindergarten through third grade. 1st, 2nd & 3rd place prizes will be awarded for each grade. Coloring sheets must be turned in at the rattlesnake roundup on Saturday, March 16th. Judging will be on Sunday, March 17th with prizes awarded at Heartland Mall on Monday, March 18th at 7 pm. Coloring sheets will be passed out to all Brownwood elementary schools with a free kids pass attached to each sheet. Coloring sheets may also be picked up at the Heartland Mall office.
During the Lone Star Fair and Expo, there will also be martial arts demonstrations by KBK Martial Arts. The martial arts demonstrations will feature basic to advanced moves and kicks along with a weapons demonstration. Sensei Robert Green will also be doing some cutting with a katana as a finale to the demonstration. Sensei Green holds a Second Degree Black Belt and is an inductee in the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame along with his Grandmaster Bob Brewer and his Grandmaster Robert Rapue.
The Lone Star Fair and Expo Rattlesnake Roundup will run the following hours:
Friday, March 15th 3pm – 8pm
Saturday, March 16th 9am – 8pm
Sunday, March 17th 12pm – 5pm
Tickets are $2 for children and $3 for adults
