Funeral Services for Clarence Orien Ford, age 94, of Brookesmith, Texas will be held Tuesday November 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood with Ryan Smithey officiating. Interment will follow at Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Clarence Orien Ford passed away November 17, 2012 at his home near Brookesmith, Texas. He was born September 17, 1918, to Audie and Dacie Ford, in Brownwood, and was a graduate of Bangs High School.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Billie Ford (married March 20, 1942 in Yuma, Arizona); son, Royce and wife Susan Ford; daughter, Gaynell and husband Leland Williams; 4 grandchildren (Stephen Williams, Randy Williams and Kimberly Williams Beaver; and Melissa Ford); and 4 great-grandchildren (Bailey, Jarret, and Avery Williams; and Mason Beaver). He is also survived by a brother, Cecil Ford, and a sister Onnie Newton. He was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter, Angela Williams, in 1973. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving from 1942 until 1945; factory superintendent for the Brady Aircraft plant for 13 years; technician for the Soil Conservation Service for 16 years; founder of the Brookesmith Special Utility District-the water supply for much of Brown County; and, a farmer and rancher between Trickham and Brookesmith for 66 years. He was also a member of the 4th Street Church of Christ, in Brownwood.
He enjoyed being with family and friends. His inventiveness and work ethic left loving impressions in his family. His last few years were comforted by very loving and compassionate care-givers that were deeply appreciated by him and his family.
