The United Way kicked off their 2012-2013 campaign Tuesday and were encouraged by speaker Brownwood High School football coach Sam Harrell.
Harrell spoke of difficulties faced since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and the battles he has endured to improve his health and life. Most importantly, Harrell encouraged luncheon attendees to not grow weary of giving, not grow weary in reaching out to help others and not to grow weary leaning on and trusting in God.
“When I think of United Way I think of giving. The United Way gives help and also hope to people who may not have much hope,” said Harrell who related to being helped by giving of others. “Don’t grow weary of giving because good things are happening and lives are being changed,” said Harrell.”
