On Thursday, September 20th, Northwest Elementary held their WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads of Great Students) kickoff event. “The Watch Dog kick-off was a huge success. I was highly pleased with the turnout,” said Northwest Elementary Principal, Candace Wilson. “We had over 100 attend, of which there were approximately 35 male role models.”
Officer Bastardo presented material by showing a brief video that explained the WATCH D.O.G.S.® program and participants were also treated to a visit from McGruff, the crime-fighting dog.
Assistant Principal, Jerry Jones, will be managing the program on the Northwest Elementary campus. “Mr. Jones has done a fantastic job leading this new program,” said Wilson. “We have already had two men participate this week.”
