Katherine Kinman

KinmanKatherine Willson Kinman, age 83 of Brownwood passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011 in Brownwood.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, October 17, 2011 in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, October 16, 2011, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Katherine was born April 22, 1928 in Brownwood, to Lucy (DeHay) and Lester Parker.  She attended school at Indian Creek and graduated from high school in Brookesmith.  Afterwards, Katherine attended Daniel Baker College.  She married Robert W. Willson on April 24, 1948.  Katherine had been a resident of Brownwood since July of 1956.  She married Larry G. Kinman on November 10, 2001.  Katherine worked at Southwest State Bank as Assistant Cashier and Head of Bookkeeping for 7 ½ years.  She also worked at City Hall as a computer operator for 4 years.  Katherine loved to travel.  She visited all 50 states and 10 foreign countries.  She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, as well as a volunteer for both Good Samaritan Ministries and Meals on Wheels.  Katherine enjoyed many different activities; such as line dancing, painting, sewing, and playing piano.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, or your favorite charity.

Mrs. Kinman was preceded in death by her husband Robert Willson; parents, Lucy (DeHay) and Lester Parker; brother Phillip Parker; sister Corine Gable; infant son Wade Willson, and great-granddaughter Kaitlyn Doss.

Survivors include her husband Larry Kinman of Brownwood; daughters, Karen Lancaster and husband Ken of Brownwood and Kathy Doss and husband Droyce of Belton; and grandchildren, Cory Howard and wife Daniell of Winchell, Casey Howard of Brownwood, Justin Doss and wife Amy of Bradenton, FL, Jared Doss and wife Jessica of Saginaw, TX, Jana Detrie and husband Jace of Athens, TN, and Joel Doss of Belton; 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
