Shannon Stone Memorial Fund Established – How You Can Help

shannonstone2Local officials and media outlets have been flooded with questions about making monetary donations to help the Stone family after the death of firefighter Lt. Shannon Stone.   The City of Brownwood and the Texas Rangers have arranged for options in making donations.

A memorial fund for Lt. Shannon Stone ’s family has been set up at Bank of America.  Those interested in donating can do so c/o the Shannon Stone Memorial Fund at Bank of America.  The Brownwood Fire Department will also accept donations on behalf of the fund at:

Donations for the Shannon Stone Memorial Fund may also be made online through the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce website at www.BrownwoodChamber.org.  City officials said that donations to this account have already started pouring in as of Friday afternoon due to national media coverage.

The Texas Rangers have also set up a memorial account.  Donations can be made there at www.TexasRangers.com

The family of Shannon Stone issued the following statement Friday afternoon:  The Stone family is devastated by this tragedy. The family appreciates your thoughts, kind words and prayers, and asks that you respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements of the 39-year-old firefighter are pending with Davis Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood.
