The Synergy Brass Quintet will perform at Howard Payne University on Tuesday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Mims Auditorium.
The vibrant classical music group performs more than 300 concerts per year. Their engagements have taken them across the United States, including the Ravinia Music Festival in Illinois, the Bethlehem Musikfest in Pennsylvania, the Tanglewood Music Festival in Massachusetts, and internationally at the Festival de Musica de Camara de Aguascalientes and the Sauerland-Herbst Brass Festival in Germany.
According to the American Record Guide, the quintet’s performances are “impeccable and deeply moving. This group delivers gorgeous, balanced sound and has completely mastered any technical skill you can name. Their ensemble and dynamic subtlety are second to none.”
Members of the quintet include: Jon Hurrell, French horn; Eric Braunstein, trumpet and flugelhorn; Bobby Thorp, trumpet; Jordan Witt, trombone; and Tristan Eggener, tuba and double bass.
All area students and children are invited to attend the concert for free. Adult tickets are available for $5 each at the door of the event. Please contact Jill Holamon, administrative assistant for HPU’s School of Music and Fine Arts, at 649-8500, for more information.
