Below are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.
Lake Brownwood
Water clear; 9.88′ low. Black bass are good on crawfish colored Persuader crankbaits and 4″ soft plastic worms over brush piles in 4 – 10 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits off lighted docks at night. Crappie are fair on chartreuse tube jigs and minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on cut bait and nightcrawlers over baited holes in 10 – 20 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
Lake Coleman
Water clear; 60–64 degrees; 10.97′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastics and Rat–L–Traps. Hybrid striper are fair on minnows and silver striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow.
O. H. Ivie Reservoir
Water stained; 52–59 degrees; 27.16′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon seed tubes, spinnerbaits, Rat–L–Traps and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.
Lake Proctor
Water stained; 59–62 degrees; 6.21′ low. Black bass are fair on pumpkinseed deep running crankbaits and soft plastic worms off points. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles in 10 – 15 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on live shad and goldfish. Yellow catfish are slow.
