DSC_0221Brownwood made a strong showing during pool play at the first day of the 7-on-7 football state tournament.   Brownwood went undefeated on Thursday taking out their first three opponents and placing themselves in the Division II championship bracket.

64 teams divided into 16 groups of four teams each on Thursday and competed in pool play (three games per team).  The top two teams from each pool advanced to a 32-team single elimination championship bracket, while the remaining 32 teams are entered into a single elimination consolation bracket.

Brownwood pool play results are as follows:

Game 1
Brownwood  41
Rosebud  13DSC_0231

Game 2
Brownwood  51
Jefferson  15

Game 3
Brownwood 47
Kinkaid 21

Brownwood moves undefeated into the championship bracket and will face Gilmer in the first round of the championship bracket which starts at 9am on Friday at Texas A&M.  The winner of that game will move on to play either Snyder or Wimberly in round 2.
