2010RodeoParadeThe 47th Annual Brown County Rodeo continues as the annual event was celebrated with the traditional parade through downtown Brownwood on Saturday morning.

Area schools, businesses, organizations, and local dignitaries were all present headed up by this year’s Grand Marshal Helen Chamberlain.   Newly elected Mayor Stephen Haynes and new Brownwood Police Chief Mike Corley participated in the parade for the first time in their official capacities with their families by their side.

Spectators lined the streets of downtown to enjoy this year’s event as children anxiously waited to receive candy from parade participants.

Saturday is the last night for the rodeo which kicks off at 8pm at the Earl Q. Wilson Arena.  The annual Rodeo Dance will also take place Saturday night at the Brownwood Coliseum to finish out the rodeo weekend.
