Resurrection Week at Howard Payne University will be held March 29-31. Kyle Byrd, founder and pastor of the Church at the Epicenter in Burnet will be the featured speaker for the annual spring revival, held during the week between Palm Sunday and Easter. Worship music will be lead by Jeff Berry, founder of CrossWind Ministries.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday through Wednesday with evening services Monday and Tuesday starting at 7:30 p.m. All services will be held at First Baptist Church, Brownwood and are open to the public. Resurrection Week precedes HPU’s Easter holidays, which are scheduled from April 2-5.
Kyle Byrd founded Front Line Ministries, Inc., in November 1989 as a student ministry for parents, workers, schools and churches as they relate to students. It is estimated that through this ministry, he has spoken to more than 2.5 million people, in 43 states in the U.S. and three foreign countries. In 2004, Byrd planted a church in the Texas Hill Country. The Church at the Epicenter began with six people and, according to Byrd, has since grown into one of the most dynamic, fast-growing churches in the state.
Jeff Berry is a native of Abilene, Texas, and graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a degree in business. He went on to receive his master’s degree in business from Baylor University and taught in the Hankamer School of Business for five years. In addition, he served as assistant director of the John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship. In 1994, Berry left the world of academia and founded CrossWind Ministries as a platform for his worship ministry. Since its inception, The Jeff Berry Band has led in thousands of settings across the United States and in England, Germany, Turkey and Scotland.
On Monday at 2:30 p.m. there will be a meet-and-greet time for students to get to know the Resurrection Week team.
After-service fellowships will be held in the Activity Center of First Baptist Church on both Monday and Tuesday evenings beginning at 8:45 p.m. Monday evening’s fellowship will be sponsored by First Baptist Church, while Tuesday evening’s fellowship will be sponsored by Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.
Additionally, there will be a prayer meeting for the Resurrection Week services on Sunday, March 28 at 9:00 p.m. in the Bullion Suites of the Mabee University Center.
