Brown County Sheriff’s deputies made a pair of arrests on Friday at a residence on Shannon Drive near Lake Brownwood. Deputies arrived at the residence to serve warrants on 44-year-old Donald Eugene Skaggs of Brownwood who had 9 outstanding traffic warrants according to Sheriff’s reports.
Deputies located Skaggs inside the residence and upon a room search, found a bag of marijuana, a wooden box with a marijuana pipe, and a metal tin containing marijuana roaches according to the report. The report also states that Skaggs claimed ownership of the items and was arrested. In addition to the warrants, he was charged with Possession of Marijuana.
Skaggs’ girlfriend, 46-year-old Kellie Jean Wynne, was also arrested after deputies found drug paraphernalia containing methamphetamine residue inside the residence according to the reports. The reports say that Wynne claimed ownership of the items. She was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
In an unrelated incident on Sunday afternoon, Early Police Officer Pattimae Furry stopped a vehicle leaving the location of a reported disturbance call. Furry interviewed the driver and then interviewed the passenger identified as 24-year-old Brandi Burkett. Officer Furry searched the vehicle after obtaining consent from the driver.
Police reports state that Furry located several hydrocodone pills that were not prescribed to Burkett or the driver. Further investigation revealed the pills belong to a person in Zephyr, and Burkett stated that the owner of the pills did not have knowledge that she had the pills according to the reports. Burkett was placed under arrest for Possession of Controlled Substance.
