grant001A memorial service for Evelyn Grant, age 80, of Lubbock, formerly of May, will be at 12:00 PM, Saturday, Nov. 7 in the May United Methodist Church under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Ms. Grant died October 15, 2009 in Lubbock Healthcare Center.

She was born on October 3, 1929 in Matador to R.L. and Lura (Morris) Johnson.  She was a homemaker and a member of May United Methodist Church.

Evelyn is survived by a son, Jack Krieger and wife Sandi of Castroville, daughter, Tammy Davis and husband Johnny of Lubbock, son, Delbert Matney f Lawton, OK, son, Doug Matney and wife Cathy of Oklahoma City, OK, step-son, Jackie Dale Krieger and wife Vivian, step-daughter, Shirley Collins and husband Charles of Midland, two brothers, Bobby Johnson and wife Angie, Ray Johnson and Penny, a sister, Beth Brown and husband Charles, 23 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lavoy Matney and David Grant, two daughters, Margaret Branch and Deborah Matney.
