handonahousedecorationThings are shaping up as the 2009 Brownwood Reunion Celebration fast approaches with sponsors and volunteers working hard to get the events and competitions put together.

One of the popular competitions from the last several years is the Hands on a House event.  The Hands on a House competition selects around 20 contestants each year competing for a custom built playhouse.  Contestants must keep their hand in contact with the house as set forth in the agreed rules during the Brownwood Reunion Celebration.  The last person remaining with their hand on the house at the end of the Reunion wins the playhouse.  The 2009 competition will keep participants active as it goes Extreme.

The new Extreme Hands on a House competition will now include new challenges and side events such as a costume contest, a blind fold round, Simon says contest, a waiters contest, and participation in the parade.  Sponsors are also bringing back the food drive from last year to benefit Doers Ministries and the food pantry at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

Sponsors for the Extreme Hands on a House competition are Coldwell Banker, Avalon Custom Homes, and WT Harris Company.  Entry forms can be downloaded HERE.

This photo shows the 1950’s Diner themed playhouse which workers are in the process of decorating for this year’s competition.
