Doris Evelyn Firth, age 86, of Brownwood went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, with Brother Bill Slaymaker officiating. Burial will follow in Jenkins Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Doris was born Oct. 12, 1926, in Brownwood, to John Robert and Annie Melton Goates and lived here her entire life. She was married to Fred Firth on June 28, 1945, and together they raised three sons. Doris worked as a LVN at Brownwood Regional Medical Center for 21 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church and former member of the Brownwood Order of the Eastern Star. In her younger years she enjoyed square dancing and later in life could often be seen working in her yard or going to garage sales.
Doris is survived by her sons, Craig Firth and wife Denise of Pleasanton, Calif., Fred Firth Jr. of Brownwood and Chris Firth and wife Vikki of Brownwood; grandchildren, Spencer, Cooper, Thomas, Michael and Chad; and great-grandchildren, Adyson, Wyatt, Cody and Will.

Larry Gene “Red” Perry, Sr., age 59 of Brownwood passed away at his home on Saturday, March 30, 2013. Per his wishes, Red will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home & Cremations.
Larry Gene Perry, Sr. was born August 4, 1953 in Longbeach, California to Willard Alton Sr. and Lavonia Ruth (Crenshaw) Perry. He had lived in Brownwood since 1964. Red served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Debra Netherton in Brownwood in 1976.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Debra Perry of Brownwood; children Larry Gene “Bubba” Perry, Jr., Polly Perry and Brenda Perry, all of Tennessee; brother, Randall Perry and wife, Ann of Brookesmith; mother-in-law, Wanda Netherton of Brownwood; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

A celebration of Mattie Emma Sutton Johnson’s 105 years of life is set for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 30th at San Saba Cemetery, San Saba, Texas. Officiating the graveside service will be Pastor Samuel Crosby of First Baptist Church, San Saba, Texas.
Teddy Roosevelt was president and William Howard Taft was president-elect when Mattie Emma Sutton came into the world on January 14, 1908. The youngest of five, Emma, like her other siblings, was born at home in the little community of Fairview, about four miles north of San Saba. She was blessed to live all 105 years in San Saba County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irby Marcus Johnson, her father, Iscoe Philip Sutton, her mother, Susan Emily Brown Sutton, and her sisters, Willie Pearl Sutton, Lillie Sutton, brothers, Allen Sutton and Thomas Sutton. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Colleen Hallmark, son-in-law, Raymond Hurston Hallmark, son, Irby Craigan Johnson, grandson, Hurston Craig Hallmark and grand daughter-in-law, Beverly Hallmark.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Walker Johnson and wife, Eleanor Owen Johnson of San Saba, Texas, by a daughter, Connie Johnson Taff and husband, Thomas Eugene Taff of Harrison, Arkansas and Betty Ann Johnson, San Saba, Texas. Dorothy Jean McCann, age 73, of Brownwood went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 23, 2013. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home with Pastor Carlton Stimpson officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Davis-Morris.
Dorothy was born April 3, 1939, in Carthage, Texas to John Freemon and Etta Mae Rayson. She came to live in Brownwood in 1975 where she met James McCann and they were married in 1980. Dorothy was a member of Abundant Life Church and she loved to sew and go fishing. She loved to make others laugh and was loved by all who knew her.
Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Betty Broadnax of Dallas, and Ethel Jacques Lockridge and husband Carl of Dallas; step-children, Randy McCann, Bobbie Hopes, Jacklyn Williams, Wynda Gail Guillory, Bennie Butler, Jr. and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Lou Tishie Hise, 78, of Brownwood will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Woodland Memorial Park in Mineral Wells with William Eudy officiating. Lou went home to be with her Lord March 23, 2013 in Brownwood.
Lou was born in Lone Camp, Texas on September 20, 1934 to Robert (Bob) Lee and Josie Ann Thornton. She learned to play the piano at the age of five, and at eight years of age, wrote the school song for Santo. On August 10, 1952, she married Gilbert Lawrence Hise in Lone Camp. After becoming a recording artist and playing for so many years, the sound of Lou on the piano can still be heard by many. She loved her family and enjoyed visiting with friends and making new ones.

Nita was born March 3, 1924, in Owens to Miller and Mary Crockett. Nita was married to Joe A. Bailey on April 11, 1941. Together they owned and operated “Bailey’s Radio and TV” in downtown Brownwood for several years. After the sale of their business, Nita worked in the Brown County Clerk’s office for nineteen years and served as the Brown County Clerk form 1980 through 1986.

Alvin L. Isom, age 70, of Brownwood died Friday at the Brown wood Senior Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am Tuesday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benny M. Allcorn officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday in the Moody Cemetery in Moody, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Alvin was born September 14, 1942 in Moody, Texas the son of the late Edmond Alvin and Alton Bearden Isom. He married Betty Brink Southern in Brownwood on August 25, 1995. She preceded him in death. He worked for Superior Cable for 25 years retiring in August 2007. He was a Baptist and had lived in Brownwood for the past 30 years.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Debbie Aaron of Brownwood and Kaycie isom of Frisco
